each year. They appreciate the benefits technology brings to their
lives, but caution that there should be balance and that people
should be careful with technology.
Internet Access/Usage
More than 75% of U.S. and Canadian households have Internet access; Mexico trails its counterparts with a penetration rate between 25% and 30%. Based on the online survey results, Internet access is more prevalent among Active Gamblers: 98% of U.S. gamblers, 99% of Canadian gamblers and 97% of Mexican gamblers spend one or more hours online each week.

There were an estimated 4.6 billion cellular subscriptions worldwide at the end of 2009.
Compared to Active Gamblers in the U.S. and Canada, Mexicans are more likely to own either an iPhone® (26%) or other smartphone (42%).

Canadian and Mexican Active Gamblers are significantly more likely to have used their cell phone
for entertainment than those in the U.S. The most popular place to do that is while at home or
waiting for an appointment.

Among Active Gamblers those who own an iPhone or other smartphone, about half are willing to pay for apps.
